oikos Copenhagen – Students for Sustainability is an active student organisation at Copenhagen Business School. We provide a platform for stakeholders across the spectrum (students, academia, business, government and NGOs) to collaborate on sustainability for systemic change. Our mission is to foster the responsible leaders of tomorrow by enabling students to be changemakers for sustainability today. Our shared values of community, commitment and collaboration guide us in our impact initiatives.
Every degree matters and we we see interdisciplinarity as one of the main enablers for sustainable development and global change. For that reason, we welcome students and seek dialogue with stakeholders from any university in the Copenhagen area interested in contributing to or collaborating on our mission of integrating sustainability into campus, curriculum and career.
We leverage 20 years of existence, network and relationships and channel them into our projects. oikos Copenhagen is the result of the merger of two former student organisations at CBS by the names WELL and Develop, which were founded in 2002 and 2004 respectively. The merged organisation was named 360° Students for Sustainability - a stronger actor in the sustainability debate. In 2013, 360° Students for Sustainability rebranded as oikos Copenhagen - Students for Sustainability. Our organisation had then been a local chapter of oikos International since 2011.

campus
As intermediaries between the university and students, we strive to create awareness and impact through concrete initiatives moving the sustainability agenda forward. Pioneering university/student organisation-relations, we collaborate with university and third-party stakeholders to create a sustainable, green, and liveable environment on campus, while creating awareness about sustainability among students.
curriculum
Universities and business schools have the responsibility to educate the responsible leaders of tomorrow. Working with university stakeholders, we leverage curricular innovation in business, economics, and management education. We seek to bridge the gap between the current and future needs of profound sustainability knowledge and capabilities and integrate them into universities’ study programmes and curricula, as well as to create extracurricular opportunities where needed.
career
Building bridges between students and sustainable careers, we provide a platform to enable and inform students on sustainable career paths. We strive to provide information, skills, and tools for the pursuit of a green career, while bringing students closer to sustainable and social businesses and organisations.

As a community, we share a purpose of working towards sustainability. Our community enables us to share and support the perpetual growth of each other, ourselves, and our environment. Together we can touch every part of society: from personal awareness to systemic change.
As a community, we engage actively in our surrounding communities on campus, in business and in society. Solving the climate crisis requires an interdisciplinary approach. Hence, we engage in diverse communities and invite people from all backgrounds into ours. That way, we create a network of changemakers to explore novel opportunities beyond boundaries and thought patterns to steer towards a sustainable future.

Since joining in 2011, oikos Copenhagen has grown into one of the largest local chapters of a global student-driven organisation that promotes sustainable economics and management education.
Founded in 1987 in Switzerland, oikos International empowers student change agents worldwide to embed sustainability in academia. Chapters are supported by a global community of oikos alumni, advisors, faculty, and partners, as well as an international team based in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Through support in infrastructure and knowledge resources, we benefit greatly from exchanging and debating ideas and impact across the close to 50 chapters around the globe.

Station is a student-driven platform, where students can leverage community into innovation. oikos Copenhagen has been part of the network since 2019.
